Cell Doors
You should know a little bit about the cell doors.
They're made of wood and they are locked with a deadbolt. At the top of the door is a one foot tall by one and a half foot wide rectangular opening covered by a steel screen. On the outside of the screen, Plexi-glass extends from the top of the rectangle down to the last couple of inches of the opening. It's similar to a ticket booth in some ways, except there's no way to pass anything back and forth with the door closed. Another difference is that the Plexi-glass protects the person on the outside, not the person on the inside. Without the glass, the "counselors" would surely get spat on more. It's common to see dried blood, sheets of yellow mucus, and boogers caked on the glass.
When a detainee leaves, the cell doors are not cleaned.
